Universal Social Organization
Mission Statement
A New Way to Connect, Organize, and Build Together
For as long as we can remember, we’ve been divided and fractured by borders and hierarchies.
Because of the demands of life, we’ve felt compelled out of individual necessity to be organized into certain groups which have served to control resources for those in the group, while excluding those outside the group from access or benefit. This seems now more apparent than ever.
We’re coming to realize, collectively, the unfairness, injustice, painfulness, unsustainability, and, ultimately, the inhumanity involved in treating each other this way. We’ve been searching for better ways of expressing our humanity and intertwining our lives together.
It’s time for something new.
The Universal Social Organization (USO) is not a ‘social network,’ exclusive club, captured mass media channel, land fund, or private endowment. It’s not a government agency, nonprofit, cooperative, trust, or corporation.
It is a movement—a borderless, decentralized, community-driven network built on trust, equality, and real human connection. It is does not, by itself, hold any funds or own any property. It has no “owners” and you cannot buy “stock” in it. You are “in” it if you want to be in it, and you can never be expelled or exiled against your will.
While it may have affiliations with other types of organizations, it, in and of itself, exists simply as a completely non-discriminatory platform for unification, free association, free speech, and the exchange of thoughts and ideas.
Where this has not been feasible for humanity before, we believe that our collective cultural, social, and technological progress have brought us to a point where it is now possible.
What is USO?
The USO is an open, people-powered network where individuals can connect, share resources, self-organize, and collectively build something better. It is:
Open to all—no barriers, no discrimination.
Borderless—not tied to any geographic location, nation-state, or government.
Decentralized—led by all of us, not by segregated factions or exclusionary hierarchies.
Trust-based—a network of verified, individual people, and not holding companies or bots.
A platform—for organizing, hosting events, and collective sharing and decision-making.
An information center—a media and communications channel run by its members.
How Does It Work?
Unlike traditional groups and organizations throughout history, the USO is designed to be as open and un-hierarchical as possible, by providing for:
Self-Governance – Members elect tiers of representatives via a proportional method of ranked choice voting to guide USO’s development and ensure that diverse voices are well represented and community interests are brought to the table, through coalition-building.
Member-Owned Organizations – USO can associate with nonprofits, businesses, and cooperatives managed by community-nominated leaders.
Zero Cost to Participate – No membership fees, no taxes, no obligations—just a space to connect and build together.
Simplicity & Accessibility – USO runs primarily on smartphones and private web-based apps, making it easy to use and less subject to external costs, controls, and restrictions.
A Growing Ecosystem – Apps like the Registry/Directory, Social Book, Events, Portfolio, and Vote empower members to collaborate in new ways.
Why Does It Matter?
We live in a time of crisis and transition, but with that, opportunity.
Inequality is growing, institutions are failing, and trust is eroding. The systems that govern us are not built for all of us. USO is a way to take back control—not through upheaval, revolt, and turmoil, but through reconnection, cooperation, and self-governance.
Imagine a world where:
The community—not conglomerates and captured politicians—control the networks and resources that community members use.
Elections are clear, representative, and democratic, not opaque and skewed by broken systems.
People collaborate freely to manage resources—land, agriculture, healthcare, education, etc.—without the mandate to make a profit for the group, increase shareholder value, or pay any taxes or fees to the group.
This is no longer in the dream stage. The USO is existing in reality, in its early form. A seed planted, ready to grow. It will be what we make it, together.
How to Join
USO is about participation.
Sign Up & Verify – Ask a member how to get registered. Then, log on to the organization’s hosted website (universalsocial.org), to access the Registry/Directory and get your USO ID.
Engage – Use the Social Book app to connect and share. Think of this as your public journal, to keep your friends, family, and the rest of your network up to date on your experiences, thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Follow, “Love,” and comment on the other posts you see. Learn, empathize, explore, grow.
Take Action – Organize and attend community events in the Events app. Build, manage, and display a profile of your creations and accomplishments to share with the community in the Portfolio app. Vote in elections, run in elections, and learn about different voting methodologies in the Vote app and other related apps.
Help Shape the Future – Share your thoughts and ideas, and invite others in to help define what USO becomes.
This is just the beginning. USO is what we make it. If you’re ready to be part of something new, let’s do it.
Let’s Connect, Organize, and Build Something Better—Together.
